You have worked so hard….

When you have dedicated yourself to getting the work done, it can feel anticlimactic to have achieved those goals. You realize that all the effort you put in left your emotional self behind somewhere along the way. You are having trouble connecting to the people you love, trouble feeling the joy you want, trouble understanding why success isn’t feeling better. The life you want to live feels just beyond reach.

We can find a way forward together.

Achievement comes from single-minded pursuit of excellence, but building a life worth living comes from integrating your authentic emotional self with your exceptional rational self. Emotional growth relies on skills that can be learned, and we can work together to improve your emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.

I’m Dr. Amanda Mortimer

I meet with adults virtually to help them feel more grounded, less alone, and more connected to what really matters. My approach is trauma-informed and integrates a deep knowledge of the empirically validated treatment literature with practical tools for change.

Together, we will find the approach that best suits your needs, cultural values, and perspective on the world. I will introduce you to skills that help you understand and manage intense emotions, rework unhelpful thoughts, move toward what matters most to you, and strengthen your connection with others.

How I see therapy

Therapy is your space and your time to focus intently on exploring the changes you’d like to make in your life, and then creating a map to get where you want to go. I’m with you to help you define and name your concerns, as a resource on how change works, and as a support on your chosen path. I bring my two decades of experience and in-depth study of clinical concerns, human learning, and neuroscience to help you create your own life worth living.

Let’s Talk.
